Narrative

In 1893, Chevra Kadisha Congregation was founded as a Burial Society associated with a small synagogue conducting services in a loft on lower Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
in 1903, the congregation´s first building was erected was located on Saint-Urbain and Sainte-Catherine.
In 1912, when Lazar Paperman established his company, the congregation ceased being a burial society.
In 1920, a fire destroyed the congregation´s building, and the synagogue was relocated to Jeanne-Mance, near Milton until 1928.
From 1928 to 1955, the synagogue was located on Hutchinson, corner Fairmount.

 

Narrative

In 1886, B’Nai Jacob Congregation was founded, on Saint-Constant (present DeBullion) Street.
In 1918, the congregation relocated to a new building on Fairmount, near Esplanade.

Narrative

In 1956, Congregation Chevra Kadisha amalgamated with Bńai Jacog Congregation, and moved to the present location on Clanranald.
