Kibbutz Kfar Giladi קיבוץ כפר-גלעדי, close to the northern border, served as the departure point for activities of the Hulia חוליה היבשתית, and the gathering place for convoys immigrants entering Palestine by land.

Haim Zingfer became a member of the Huia חוליה היבשתית, transporting Maapilim through Syria and Lebanon across the northern border of Palestine.

A fireteam חוליה is the smallest unit in the military, and based on the need for tactical flexibility in infantry operations, it is the primary unit upon which infantry organization is based.

In 1944, David Kremerz was recruited as a member of the Huiia Squad חוליה היבשתית, transferring Maapilim to Palestine from Syria through Lebanon.
The Maapilim were taken by Huiia Squad חוליה היבשתית representatives to the West Litani River, and from there to kibbutz Kfar Giladi כפר גלעדי, and then to kibbutz Ayelet haShachar איילת השחר.
