In 1930, Kfar Vitkin כפר ויתקין, named after Yosef Vitkin, was founded by a group of 20 people who settled in an old stone house.

In 1933 , the founding group of Moshav Kfar Vitkin כפר ויתקין moved to permanent housing.
Their principal activity, along with raising watermelons, was supporting the Haapalah, and smuggling weapons for the underground.
