In 1933, BOSMAT בסמ"ת opened, replacing the Reali Technical School, which prepared students for the Technion, as s 4 year vocational secondary school.

Shmuel Poznanski attended the BOSMAT בוסמת Technical School.
He lived with his Aunt, but because of the financial strain, he was forced to stop his studies at the end of the school year, and work.
In 1951, he resumed his studies at the Technion, and then completed his masters degree in engineering and management at MIT, asone of the first IDF officers to study abroad.
