In 1908, Frankenwald was owned by Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Actiengesellschaft HAPAG.

In August 1914, Frankenwald was seized at Bilbao, and on June 14, 1916, was delivered to France as part of World War I reparations.
In 1920, Frankenwald was transferred to N. Paquet and Co., and renamed Tadla.

In 1934, Tadla was acquired by Sosyete Vapurculuk Turk Anonim Sirketi, of Turkey, and renamed Tari.
In 1936, Tari was acquired by Denizyollari Idaresi.
In 1940, Tari was acquired by T.C. Mûnakalât Vekâleti Devlet Denizyollari Islemet U.M.

In December, 1944, Taurus טאורוס sailed from Constanţa, carrying 950 passengers, organized by Mossad leAliyah Bet and the Revisionists.
Dahlia Ofer cites Taurus טאורוס sailing from Romania, a month after Salah-a-Din, carrying 950 passengers, in coordination with ORAT, and like other vessels from during late 1944, she went only as far as Istanbul.
Paul H. Silverstone's Aliyah Bet Project cites Tari Taurus טאורוס sailing from Romania, carrying 958 passengers.
Amutayam.org.il cites Taurus טאורוס sailing in early December, 1944, from Constanţa, carrying 958 passengers, including Vilna Ghetto Fighters, Ruzka Korczak and Abraham Lidowski.

Dina Porat cites Ruzka Korczak was ordered by Abba Kovner to steal across the border into Romania, where Yishuv emissaries sent to Palestine aboard Tari Taurus טאורוס.

Narrative

In December, 1944, despite cancellation of the agreement allowing Maapilim in transit to Palestine into Turkey, Tari Taurus טאורוס landed at Istanbul, the last Aliyah Bet vessel allowed to disembark passengers bound for Palestine.
The Maapilim continued their journey by train.

In March, 1967, Tari Taurus was broken up by Omer Karahmetoghu at Istanbul-Halic.
