Narrative

In 1942, Sobibor extermination camp SS-Sonderkommando Sobibor was built, as part of Operation Reinhard, on the outskirts of the town of Sobibór, near the 16 forced labor camps in Lublin Voivodeship,
In mid-April 1942, 250 Jews from Krychow were brought to the camp for experimental gassings, and Christian Wirth, commander of Belzec, came to witness the gassings.

Narrative

In May 1942, Sobibor began mass gassing operations, and when trains entered the railway station, the Jews onboard were told they were in a transit camp,
They were led along the 100 meter long Road to Heaven Himmelstrasse which led to the gas chambers, where they were killed using carbon monoxide.
