Launched: June 8, 1944, as Castle class corvette, HMS Maiden Castle, for the Royal Navy.
Completed: November, 1944, as HMS Empire Lifeguard, for Ministry of War (MoWT).

Narrative

On July 23, 1947, HMS Empire Lifeguard was sunk at Haifa חיפה, by limpet mines attached to her hull in Famagusta Αμμόχωστος Gazimağusa.

After some work in Atlantic convoys, HMS Empire Lifeguard HMS Maiden Castle operated as a troop transport for the army, in Home waters as well as the Mediterranean.

On August 8, 1947, HMS Empire Lifeguard was refloated, and towed to Port Said بورسعيد.for drydocking.
