The Special Interrogation Group SIG were recruited directly from the Palmach, the Haganah and ETtzL e Irgun), including:

Gordon Landsborough cites: the soldiers of SIG "would carry out sabotage behind the German lines in German uniforms or simply pull in at German camps, speak to troops and gather information."

Narrative

On June 3, 1942, the SIG was assigned its first mission: Operation Agreement to assist the Special Air Service, led by Lt. Col. David Stirling in destroying Luftwaffe airfields, 100 miles west of Tobruk, which were threatening the Malta Convoys.
On September 13-14, 1942, the SIG took part in Operation Agreement, playing the role of German guards transporting three truckloads of British POWs to a camp at Tobruk.
The assault failed and the British forces lost three ships and several hundred soldiers and Marines.
Surviving members of the SIG were transferred to the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps.
