Yosef Klarman organized illegal immigration in the 1930s

In September,1944, Yosef Klarman was sent by ITzL אצ"ל to Romania.
He established close contact with the Romanian authorities, and was officially received by King Michael and Queen Helena.
He became the liaison officer between the Haganah and the Romanian authorities, and a central figure in immigration activities.

Event Note

In August, 1947, fhe Romanian authorities, under Soviet pressure, prevented Pan York and Pan Crescent, from leaving Constanţa, but thanks to Yosef Klarman's contacts in the Romanian government. both vessels were permitted to sail.
