Event Note

In October 1941, at the beginning of the deportations to Transnistria, Abraham Kogan's father, who was in the timber business, obtained a permit "Autorizatzie" to stay in Czernowitz.
Abraham Kogan and his family survived there in the Czernowitz Ghetto until end of March 1944.
In April, 1945, Abraham Koganet escaped to the Soviet Union by obtaining permission for "repatriation" to Romania, as a former Romanian citizen.
He crossed the border to Iasi, alone, and a month later, the family was reunited in northern Romania, and they moved westward.

In late 1947, Abraham Kogan temporarily interrupted his studies to emigrate to Palestine.

Abraham Kogan resumed his civil engineering studies at the Technion in Haifa.
In 1952, he earned his BSc, and then completed special diploma exams and presentation, earning his Dipl.-Ing., in 1953.
