Aryeh Malkin: His amazing story

Event Note

In April, 1946, David Gottlieb served as crew, sailed from the Port of New York aboard HMCS Beauharnois יאשיהו ווג'ווד Josiah Wedgwood.
David Gottlieb cites: "The ship’s chief engineer was a Swede with a passionate dislike for the British, and the ship’s cook was a big Canadian with fiery red hair and beard to match. But, the most memorable crew member was the boatswain, a fat, self-admitted “Jewish hobo,” who formerly had worked on a Hudson River barge. This man later saved my life during a violent storm near the Azores."
