Place Note

Two agricultural boarding schools, named after Kadoorie were built, with the contribution of the Jewish philanthropist Sir Ellis (Elly) Kadoorie, who died in the British colony of Hong Kong in 1922.
In 1930, the Khodori Institute in Tulkarm was founded.
In 1933, the Kadoorie Agricultural School בית הספר החקלאי כדורי was built next to the village of Kfar Tavor, next to Mount Tabor.
The Kadoorie Agricultural School בית הספר החקלאי כדורי was reputed to be one of the best schools in Palestine during the British Mandate of Palestine.
During the Israeli War of Independence, many of the school's students and graduates fought in Palmach brigades, and were an honorable part of the chain of the command.
Many of the graduates of Kadoorie Agricultural School בית הספר החקלאי כדורי took active part in the colonization and the struggle to defend the Yishuv.

Event Note

By 1942, Aryeh Kaplan's class was a fully operational Palmach unit, and were sent to a course for squad leaders.
They were stationed at kibbutz Kfar Menachem קיבוץ כפר מנחם.

Amal עמל was an old ship that belonged to the Atid Company of the Burkhardt family.
She sailed under the Palestinian flag, andy carried supplies and ammunition for the Royal Navy.
Speed: 7-8 knots.
4 Royal Navy sailors operated the three anti-aircraft 20 mm cannons carried on board.

In August, 1945, Aryeh 'Kippy' Kaplan, Avraham Reiss, Moshe Rabinovitch, Yisrael Rotem, Eliezer Varsh, Peter Hoffman and Tzvi Katznelson sailed to Italy aboard Dalin דלין, to serve on other Haapalah boats.

Place Note

Dalin דלין landed near Bari, and a truck, loaded with Israeli soldiers, picked up her passengers, and drove them to the camp called Dror, and were received by camp commander, Chaim Chayatt.
