Event Note

On September 1, 1939, Zvi Unger and his family fled Sosnowiec, for a safer district in Poland.
In 1941, Zvi and two of his brothers were sent to stay with relatives in the Swierzawa Ghetto.

Event Note

In January 1945, Zvi Unger was sent on a death march to Germany.
After ten days, he and fellow prisoners were put on a train for Buchenwald.
On April, 11, 1945, he was liberated when the American troops marched into Buchenwald.
Zvi Unger was the lone surviving member of his family.
