Narrative

No Way Back is a 50-minute documentary film told how Bulgarian ship crews rescued 4,500 Jews in the 1930s - 1940s.
The documentary focused on the death of 767 Jewish refugees from Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria and 10 Bulgarian sailors whose ship, Struma סטרומה, was torpedoed by Russian submarine, SHT213, on February 14, 1941.
In the 1930s and the early 1940s 13 or 14 Bulgarian ships took to Palestine 4,500 Jews who were forced to flee Europe.
The ships, which had Bulgarian crews and sailed under the flags of different countries, sailed from Varna Варна, Burgas Бургас, and Constanţa.
