This volume of the Naval Staff History examined the history of British naval operations to restrict illegal immigration to Palestine, describing the professional demands of such operations, and showing how they were successfully handled with minimum force.
The volume included Fifteen pages of black and white photographs support the text, and appendices include lists of illegal immigrant ships, sabotage operations, the Balfour Declaration, a description of the transfer of duty to the Palestine police, and a discussion of the Arab reaction to the partitioning of Palestine.
Ninian Stewart worked for the Royal Navy and, later, the Naval Historical Branch of the Ministry of Defense.
