After hachsharah, Yochanan Dreifuss was sent to Sha'ar Hagolan שער הגולן, which had been abandoned on orders of the army when it couldn't be defended.
The kibbutz was retaken after two days, but not before the Syrians had removed every piece of wood from the doors and windows and trashed the rooms.
