Beit haKerem בית הכרם‎, House of the Vineyard, is a neighborhood in southwest Jerusalem.

Narrative

In 1920, the founders of Beit haKerem בית הכרם‎ established the Bonei Bayit co-operative אגודת בוני בית.
In March, 1921, the co-op acquired 282 dunams from the Greek Orthodox Church.
In 1922, Beit haKerem בית הכרם‎ was founded as one of six garden cities in Jerusalem developed during the British Mandate for Palestine.
Beit haKerem בית הכרם‎, at the time separated from Jerusalem by undeveloped land,was planned by Ricard Kaufmann, notable for his Bauhaus style.
