Narrative

In late 1944 and early 1945, Jewish members of the Polish resistance met with Warsaw Ghetto fighters in Lubin and formed Bricha in order to escape the anti-Semitism of Europe
After the liberation of Rovno, Eliezer and Abraham Lidovsky, and Pasha (Isaac) Rajchmann, formed an artisan guild to cover their covert activities, and sent a group to Cernăuţi to find escape routes.
In January 1945, Abba Kovner and FPO members from Vilna joined, along with Yitzhak Zuckerman, of the Jewish Fighters Unit of the Polish uprising of August, 1944,
In July, 1945, when Abba Kovner made it to the Jewish Brigade base in Italy, the group joined the effort led by the Jewish Brigade and eventually the Haganah.

Narrative

in July, 1945, Bricha in Poland, led by Moshe Meiri and Mordechai Rosman, directed the flow of Maapilim to Italy, by way of Budapest and Graz.
By August 1945, roughly fifteen thousand Maapilim had reached Italy.
