The 38th, 39th and 40th Royal Fusilier Battalions were collectively known as the Jewish Legion.

Narrative

The 39th Royal Fusilier Battalion was composed of American and Canadian volunteers.
In April, 1918, the 39th Royal Fusilier Battalion, over 50% of whom were American volunteers, was sent to Palestine to join the 38th Royal Fusilier Battalion.

Narrative

In 1919, the 39th Battalion was disbanded in Palestine.
