On August 31, 1939, Willie Glaser was granted a landing permit for England, and boarded a train to Hoek van Holland, then a ferry for Dover, and a train to London, where he reported to the Refugee Committee in Bloomsbury House.
From London, he went to join his sister, Lottie, in Belfast.
