Narrative

On January 24, 1941, the first organized Pogrom in Rădăuţi resulted in the death of twelve Jews, including two members of the Kehilah management.

Narrative

In July,1941, 1,000 Jews expelled from Seletin, Storojinetz and other nearby villages, passed through Rădăuţi, on the way to Transnistria.
The Jews of Rădăuţi brought them into their homes, and to the synagogue, gave them food and provisions for the road, and provided them with carts that would take them up to Edineti.

In August, 1941, 2,000 Jews from Siret were transferred to Rădăuţi and the Kehilah had to care for them

Narrative

On October 11, 1941, the 10,000 Jews of Rădăuţi, with all of the other Jewish refugees, were ordered to leave the town within 48 hours and to start marching towards Transnistria.
They were ordered to go on cattle trains.
The expulsion was carried out in two phases:
On October 12 and 13, 6,000 Jews were sent by train to Marculesti in Bessarabia.
Of the 6,000 Jews sent to Marculesti, if they did not perish from the bad living conditions, the cold, hunger and diseases, they were murdered on the way to Transnistria, or in the camps of Bersad, Obodovca, Tibulovca, Balta.
On October 13, the last transport with the remaining 4,000 Jews left for Ataki.
Of the 4,000 Jews that left for Ataki, 25 percent were murdered on the way to Transnistria and the camps.
